Profile
Victoria accepted tenancy in Chambers after the successful completion of her pupillage.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Victoria worked for a leading West London firm of criminal defence solicitors. Whilst there she was responsible for managing a large proportion of the firm’s Magistrates’ and Crown Court cases. She also advised clients at the police station.
Since coming to the Bar Victoria has predominantly defended trials. She has proven herself to be particularly good with difficult or demanding clients and is regularly instructed in matters where the Defendants are young or vulnerable. Having worked for a firm of solicitors Victoria fully appreciates the value of continuity of representation from the start of court proceedings through to trial for both the solicitor and the lay client.
Recent Cases
• successfully argued for the severance of a previously joined six count indictment which resulted in the Crown offering no evidence on one of the indictments [2010].
• defence counsel in a 6-handed attempted robbery allegation against a man with learning difficulties. Following defence submissions all Defendants were acquitted at half time by Recorder Oliver [2010].
