Dominic D’Souza defended former Coronation Street star Ian Jones, who admitted drunkenly trying to crash his car while his wife was driving it at high speed. Mr Jones initially denied the charge, but after his trial jury was discharged he changed his plea to guilty of dangerous driving.
Mr Jones has been banned from driving and was sentenced in April to 8 months in prison suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to do 100 hours unpaid work and must complete a 12-month supervision order.
He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and must pay a total of £1,000 towards prosecution and his own costs.
